What is that thing you ask?? That is my wooly wire-haired black and tan piebald mini dachsund. His name is Dexter and he is sooooo bad, but cute. He has been mistaken for everything from a beagle to a schnauzer. But he is a pure bread mini wiener dog.

We actually bread him with a smooth haired silver dapple and out of the small litter of 4 there was only one that looked to be wooly haired. And none were piebald. We did run the risk of creating a double dapple with the mix but thankfully there were none of those pups.

Dexter will be ‘losing’ his manhood early next month as we are retiring him as a stud! We are hoping that this helps with his peeing issues- but that is a story for another day. Isn’t he beautiful though???
